Ridingholidays on horseback
The tracks lead you through over 700 square miles of unrestricted country without paved roads with no fences at all as all cattle is herded by shepards. You meet with these shepards with their herds of goats, sheep, cows and buffaloes. Huib, your guide, has the tracks at his fingers´ ends and lets you, if you like to do so, use maps and compass to get familiar with tracing out routes. There are many chances for contacts with local people in the small villages and little pubs and so you get much more to see of rural Romanian life than the average tourist.
Besides horseridersinn, Merlelor is the largest private Lipizzanstud in Romania. The stud has about 45 horses, foals included. The Lipizzaner is a nice and reliable horse, they like to go and to please their rider. All horses are tought in the first place to draw carts and sledges to get them used to traffic and in order of training when they are still young and not yet able to carry riders.
Most traffic here anyhow consists of horses and carts.
Merlelor has some local breeds too.

We offer stationary rides and trails
are offered during the whole season from April till October. Every day you ride a different track without the need to pack and move. After a fine day of riding you return to the inn and have an aperitif at the open fire. Afterwards you enjoy a delicious 4-5 course diner.
At breakfast you prepare a luncheon, to take away on your tour which you can take in the field or at a little pub. If you like you can insert a day of rest or make an excursion. You also can make a trip with the chareta of with a cart.
This is an 8days arrangement with 6 days of riding, 5-6 hours a day. Number of participants maximum 8, no minimum. Arrival and leaving on Saturday.
Trails
Merlelor offers two varieties. This depends on seasonal reasons considering nighttemperatures and on the level of comfort one prefers. The landclimate offers very nice whether in the daytime during the whole season.
Camping-trails (Regular, Fortified Church and Experttrail)
These are organised in the period from April until the September.
Staying overnight is partly in the inn and partly on preselected private-addresses and in tents. Once we stay with the sheperds where campfires reach into the sky and where Latsi, the cook, prepares a lovely dinner, may be even fresh roasted Lamb.
Also for the most spoiled vegetarian guests Latsi prepares high gastronomic experiences.
These trails are suited for those who can live without a bathroom for some while.
It is possible if so required to return one evening to the inn by car to freshen up, stay overnight and return to the horses the next morning.

Semi-campingtrails
These trails are organised during the whole season. The difference with campingtrails is that you stay overnight in the inn. Every day participants go by car to the place where the horses are stabled, ride to the next goal and by the end of the day are picked up again by car to go to the inn.
These trails are suited for those who prefer being outward bound with the comfort of a shower or a bath and for the season the evenings are still fresh or grow colder.

All arrangements are based on full board and lodging, drinks with the meals included.
With the trails all drinks, except foreign distilled drinks, are included.
Merlelorinn is situated in an authentic farmhouse and here are also the stables. There are two 3p. rooms with private bathroom and two 2.p rooms with a shared bathroom. All rooms have a private washbasin.
